VF.(7) Dr. Bradley was the only Western-trained doctor and surgeon in the Siam at the time, perceived as a great American doctor and had immediate credibility among the Siamese. His much invaluable contributions to Siam during his time were the first printing press, designed the Thai alphabets for printing, authored a book for vaccination of smallpox, and translated an American textbook on prenatal care into Thai which was the first book on obstetrics in Thailand. He also wrote a Thai-English dictionary.
